Great American Truck Show 2008 Dallas, TX

FAQ

I have my CDL and am looking for a job. But I don't want to relocate. Is this possible?
Yes, it most certainly is. We are dedicated to finding you the right trucking company right here in Connecticut--in whichever part you might live. And even if one day you decide you would want to relocate, we can do that too! You just have to let us know your preference and we will begin the search immediately.

If I apply for a hazmat endorsement, will they do a background check?
Yes, they will. It is pretty extensive as well. The safety of Americans is there number one priority. They just want to make sure that you do not pose a threat with hazardous material--terrorist or otherwise.

To have you help me find a job in Connecticut, how much does it cost?
It doesn't cost you a thing. We do it for free--absolutely free.

What types of endorsements could I get?
There are several different types of endorsements to choose from:
H: Hazardous Materials
K: Air Brakes
N: Tank Vehicle that carries liquids or liquid gases.
T: Pulling double or triple trailers.

What are some of the physical requirements to get a CDL in Connecticut?
You have to be at least 18 years old to earn your CDL. But that is only for driving within the state of Connecticut. If you want to drive between states, you have to be at least 21 years old. You will have to get a physical exam and a drug test as well. If you want endorsements, some require an extensive and thorough background check.

Can I renew my CDL online?
No, you can't. You must renew your CDL every four years at a DMV office. And you must do this in person. Also, it costs about $60 to renew--and that requires and updated background check, vision, and physical exam. And a little word of advice, renew it before it actually expires. It will save you a lot of trouble if you are ahead of schedule.

How much is it going to cost to get a replacement CDL?
In Connecticut, it will be $30 for a replacement CDL. And remember, you can't drive without having a CDL with you. No exceptions.

What score do I have to get to pass the written portion of the test?
Connecticut requires that you take a 30 question written test. You have to get at least 24 of those questions correct.
